Prince Osito(A.K.A. Osita Jonah Ikegwuonu) was born and raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He made his early steps on stage in his homeland at the age of 15 under the name “Al Paccino” and received an award at a local music show in 1996, meaning the beginning of his musical calling.

Osito hit the road to Europe in 1998 to pursue his football career - this
long, tough exodus deeply marked his music and identity. Settled in Spain,
Prince Osito performed on the reggae scene along with Sound Systems (Roots
& Vibes, One Blood, Nyabinghi, etc) and along with Yuanan as the leading
voices of the reggae band “Urban Roots”.
In 2005, he presented the video of his very dancehall tune ‘Big Fat
Woman’, distributed to Nigerian mucis TV channels, which initiated a
strong local fan base in Nigeria.

He performed with Bongo Lounge in the Barcelona club La Paloma and shared
the stage with the soul/funk musician Aqeel (Los Angeles) at the Cultura
Urbana Festival (Madrid) in May 2006. The German reggae artist Gentleman
invited Prince Osito on stage as a special guest during his concert in
Barcelona (Bikini, May 2006). Prince Osito joined the Breakstorm Drum &
Bass crew (Dj Fran) in 2007 as its main vocalist. Since 2008 he works with
Dj Jekey (resident dj of Catwalk, Barcelona) as MC.

Prince Osito blends African music, dancehall, hip-hop and drum & bass influences into his personal version of reggae. He draws his musical inspiration from African artists (Fela Kuti, Majek Fashek, Lucky Dube) and Jamaican singers (Luciano, Culture, Sanchez, Beres Hammond, Anthony B, Bushman).

In 2007, Prince Osito released his expected debut album “Diobu Boy”, in
reference to the humble neighbourhood where he grew up. The album enhances
the versatility of the young singer/songwriter, stepping from
ragga-dancehall tracks such as ‘Shake it baby’ (mixed by Mafia & Fluxy) or
‘Ganja Farmer’ to more spiritual new roots songs such as ‘Wait’ or ‘The
Power of Jah’. The album was mixed by Hugo, One Blood Studio, and recorded
in Barcelona, London and Port Harcourt. “Diobu Boy” includes seasonable
combinations with Spanish and international artists namely Shinehead,
Jahnkonoo, Aqeel, Lyricsson, Jah Nattoh, Yuanan.
